Wildfire Impacts on Sonoma County Regional Parks

Santa Rosa,CA | October 14, 2017

Like so many in Sonoma County, our current priority at Regional Parks is to assist public safety efforts and support the well-being of our team members during this wildfire emergency.

Cancellations and Closures

We have cancelled the Tolay Fall Festival scheduled for October 14-15, 2017 and 21-22, 2017 and are cancelling all other previously scheduled activities and guided outings until further notice.

All Regional Parks east of Highway 101 are closed while most Regional Parks west of Highway 101 are open. Fires continue to threaten some parks, and we won't know the full extent of damage until the fires are contained.

Our main office in Santa Rosa is closed until further notice.

Campgrounds

At our coastal parks, we continue to accommodate campers from fire evacuation zones. We've offered available sites on a first-come, first-serve basis since Monday and continue to do so, but we project campgrounds will be full over the weekend. State Parks also has opened its Sonoma Coast campsites to campers from evacuation zones.

Neither county nor state campgrounds are set up as evacuation shelters or equipped to serve people who lack camping gear and supplies. Evacuees who need basic services are encouraged to seek assistance from the county's emergency shelters. It's also important to know that due to impacts from the disaster, coastal businesses are stretched thin and might have limited supplies and services.

If you are trying to reach us regarding a previously made reservation, please call our reservation line at (707) 565-2267 between 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Friday. Please leave a message if calling outside of those hours.

This is a devastating time for our community. We know people are making their way day by day, and we’re here to help as best possible. Stay up to date with fire-related news and community information at sonomacounty.ca.gov.

Thank you for your support.
