Outdoor fitness classes in the parks

 

Regional Parks and the Sonoma County Family YMCA bring you "Naturally Fit," a series of outdoor adventures in the parks. Energize your body and mind with fresh air, gorgeous scenery and fun workouts led by Y instructors.

A variety of Naturally Fit exercise classes are offered each spring, summer and fall. Classes range from Insanity to yoga. Check out our 2016 schedule:

Sun & Sculpt - Tuesdays & Thursdays

Spring Lake Regional Park
9:30 - 10:30 a.m.
Instructors: Angela Reed (Session 1) and Merritt Wright (Session 2)

This great class is filled with hard hitting cardio intervals combined with compound strength moves that will have your body ready for summer in no time.

Trail Running Group - Mondays

Foothill Regional Park  
9:30 - 10:30 a.m., Instructor Jannay Avelar

Walk/run friendly. Start the morning with run workouts that include interval training, hill running, and tempo runs to build endurance and strength. 

Zumba - Mondays and Thursdays

Zumba combines irresistible, international dance music with easy to learn moves, borrowing steps from Salsa, Samba, Reggae, and more. Shimmy and shake your way to fitness! All fitness levels.

Insanity- Tuesdays

INSANITY is a fun and effective 3-5 minute bursts of high-intensity exercise for overall body conditioning.

PiYo Strength - Tuesdays

This combination of Pilates and Yoga moves is a fun, fast choreographed workout to increase strength, balance and flexibility.

Morning Yoga - Wednesdays

Taylor Mountain Regional Park
9:30 - 10:30 a.m., Instructor Nichole Turnbloom

Session 1: June 15 - July 20, Register today

This mind-body class reduce’s muscle tension, increase range of motion, promote circulation, gain strength, and help prevent injuries. Please bring your own mat, blocks or straps.

Fees & Registration

Each six-week session is $18. Parking is $7 or free with a Regional Parks membership. Register online at sonomacountyparks.org. Registration closes 2 business days prior to the start of the session. Please be advised that classes with low participation will be cancelled. For more information, please contact the Regional Parks main office at (707) 565-2041.

Healthy Parks Healthy People logo large Discover the physical and mental benefits of time spent in nature through Healthy Parks Healthy People,a Bay Area movement offering free, entry-level activities in parks each month. Healthy Parks Healthy People promotes wellness by connecting residents to low-impact physical activities in public parks and open spaces. 

Sonoma County Regional Parks offers a variety of activities that embrace the Healthy Parks Healthy People philosophy. Designed for all fitness levels, guided walks are offered in English and Spanish and are great ways to explore your parks and make time in nature part of an active lifestyle.
