Biking

Bird Watching
Sonoma County Regional Parks offer some of the best birding in the region, thanks to its diverse landscapes and location on the Pacific Flyway. Here are a few popular parks for bird-watching. Go to Find a Park for a complete list.
Boating and Paddling
Sonoma County Regional Parks has boat launches along the Sonoma Coast and Russian River as well as on several lakes and a waterway of San Pablo Bay. Kayaking, paddleboarding and canoeing are popular on the lakes at Spring Lake and Riverfront parks, at parks along the Russian River, and on Bodega Harbor.
Camping
Sonoma County Regional Parks feature more than 200 year-round campsites on the Sonoma Coast and in the heart of Wine Country. Tent, trailer, cabin and RV camping is available. Reservations are required and can be made up to 12 months in advance.
Camps
It’s time for kids to get outside and reap many health benefits – physical, mental and emotional. An early introduction to the outdoors can start a lifelong passion for nature and its stewardship. And what better way to start than exploring our own regional parks?
Fishing

Hiking
Hiking is by far the most popular activity in Sonoma County's parks. With 150 miles of trails leading to beaches, mountains, forests, lakes, and meadows, it's easy to discover the beauty and benefits of time spent in nature. Horseback riding
The Regional Parks include a variety of multi-use trails open to equestrians.
Swimming
Swimming is a popular activity in our parks at beaches on the Sonoma Coast, the Russian River, and Spring Lake. Lifeguarded beaches can be found at Spring Lake Regional Park and Healdsburg Veterans Memorial Beach.
Tolay Fall Festival
The Tolay Fall Festival presents two weekends of old-time, nature-based fun from at Tolay Lake Regional Park southeast of Petaluma.
