In 2019, the Kinkade fire burned through 95% of Foothill Regional Park. Firefighters were able to stop the fire from entering Windsor by cutting firebreaks through the park. In 2020, we received a $450,000 grant to make the park more fire resistant. The promise of volunteer support was key to securing the grant. Volunteers will work on park trails, cutting and removing debris and spreading gravel. Tools, materials, gloves, drinks and snacks provided. Meet in the parking lot off Arata Lane for check in and a short safety talk. Registration is required for this volunteer event. For more information, contact John Ryan at John.Ryan@sonoma-county.org.

Join us on Saturdays, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.:
