Spring Park Previews

October 12, 2019 from 9:00 AM 3:00 PM

Enjoy the rugged beauty of nearly 1,200 acres acquired by Sonoma County Ag + Open Space, and recently transferred to Regional Parks for a future park. Discover Mark West Creek, riparian woodlands, towering redwoods, and beautiful views and envision the land’s potential as a park. Park staff and volunteers will be available to answer questions and point out the land’s features, including the regrowth from the 2017 wildfires and the master planning process to permanently open the park. Registration is required for this free event. For more information, contact Regional Parks by email at parks@sonoma-county.org or by phone at (707) 565-2041.

The park and preserve entrance is located at 3000 Porter Creek Road, west of Safari West. Road signs will mark the property entrance on park preview days, which are the only days the property is open to the public. Parking is limited, so please RSVP. If you are attending with friends or a group, please carpool.

Bring your own water. Water is not available on site. Dogs on leash are allowed. Bicycles and horses are not permitted at this time.

Accessibility

Approximately 1 mile of new trail meets proposed federal accessibility standards to the extent possible at this time. This unpaved trail connects the parking area to an existing network of ranch roads and trails, where some sections do not meet accessibility standards. Accessible parking spaces (unpaved but leveled and signed), picnic tables, portable restrooms and hand-washing stations also are available. When arriving, ask staff to direct you to accessible parking.
