Deepen your connection to the natural world through writing and sketching for all ages and abilities. Explore, carefully observe, and identify the artistically inspiring flora and fauna of your Regional Parks. Each session includes instruction on artistic techniques. Please bring your own journal and art supplies. Dress to sit on the ground or bring your own camp chair. Hiking 1-2 miles on easy to moderate trails. All ages and artistic abilities welcome! October 6 - Shiloh Ranch Regional Park
Animal Signs & Homes - Who lives in our parks? Practice identifying and sketching animals by what they leave behind and try your hand at sketching what we find!
November 3 - Doran Regional Park – Jetty Day Use Area
Sea Life - Discover the incredible variety of life found on the rocky tidal shore. Try your hand at drawing spiky sea urchins or bumpy ochre sea stars. Come prepared to get your feet wet and walk on uneven terrain. We will also have some living of examples of sea life available for easier access.
December 8 - North Sonoma Mountain Regional Park
Sempervirens - Take in the unique landscape that is a Sequoia sempervirens (redwood) forest. We’ll enjoy the scenic beauty of these stately giants.
