February 2 is For the Birds! Did you know that during wintertime a bird’s diet is made up of mostly seeds? Learn about the local birds that share our backyards during the winter season, including both migratory birds and those that visit us all year long. Make a birdfeeder to take home and see which birds show up for a visit. Materials and birdseed provided.
March 2 - Calling all color chemists! Explore the fascinating world of color in this introduction to chemistry. Have a blast creating and observing colorful solutions and mixtures, learning the meaning of the word chromatography, and experimenting with water and color.
April 6 - Science can be sweet! Join us for candy science, where you can use your brain and reward your tummy as we investigate how different candy dissolves, dances, floats, and reacts to a variety of substances.
May 4 - Have you ever used the sun to create art? Energy from the sun keeps us warm and helps plants grow, but it can also create chemical reactions! We will use solar power to make beautiful sun prints out of natural items found in the park.
