Water Bark Dog Swim - Sept. 7-8

Where: Spring Lake Regional Park

Spring Lake Water Bark 150The swimming lagoon at Spring Lake Regional Park turns into an off-leash dog park for two weekends in September. Well-behaved dogs are invited to swim in the lagoon and romp on the beach Sept. 7and 8 from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sept. 28 and 29 from 9:30 to 5:30 p.m.

This event is sponsored by the Sonoma County Regional Parks Foundation, which requests donations of $3 per dog for Regional Parks’ members and $5 per dog for non-members. All proceeds benefit the Foundation, which supports Regional Parks’ programs and operations. Raffle tickets are available for prizes like a year's supply of dog treats and Regional Parks' T-shirts. Tickets are $3 each or 4 for $10.

On Sept. 29, the Water Bark is partnering with Canine Companions for Independence, which is hosting its first DogFest Walk ‘n Roll fundraiser at Spring Lake. DogFest will feature vendors, food, wine and dog activities as volunteers and their dogs walk to raise money for Canine Companions.

The presenting sponsor of the 2013-14 Water Bark series is Township Animal Hospital. Additional sponsors include Paradise Pet Resorts, Bergin University of Canine Studies, AcCounting on Computers, Western Farm Center and Green Valley Consulting Engineers.
