Taylor Mountain Regional Park new Petaluma Hill Road entrance and trailJoin Regional Parks and our partners as we celebrate the newest phase of Taylor Mountain Regional Park and Open Space Preserve. We will dedicate the opening of the Petaluma Hill Road entrance and 1.4 miles of new trail, two features that will greatly enhance public access and enjoyment of this beautiful park in southeast Santa Rosa. Designed for hikers, bikers and equestrians, the new entrance will be the main trailhead for visitors arriving from the south and west and is the first permanent entrance developed under Taylor Mountain’s master plan. At this event, we will recognize the valuable contributions of project sponsors and supporters, hear special remarks from Sonoma County Supervisor Shirlee Zane and other officials, enjoy refreshments, and explore the lovely “Red Tail Trail” built through an innovative partnership with the Sonoma County Trails Council. (The first hike will start around noon and will be led by Trails Council representatives. A second hike will start at 1 p.m. and will be led by a bilingual naturalist from Regional Parks' Environmental Discover Center.)
