Regional Parks is developing a master plan for future recreation opportunities and environmental protections at North Sonoma Mountain Regional Park and Preserve. The plan will serve as a guiding vision for the park's management and will consider the potential for new trails, including a path to the mountain top, as well as amenities like camp sites, cabins and stables. The public is invited to learn more and share ideas at this workshop at the Bennett Valley Guild Hall, 4145 Grange Road, in Santa Rosa. A second workshop will be scheduled for summer 2017.
North Sonoma Mountain is Sonoma County's newest park and preserve. It opened in early 2015 and includes a 4-mile segment of the Bay Area Ridge Trail connecting to Jack London State Historic Park. The master planning process provides an opportunity to develop a long-range blueprint for public use and protections of the park.
