Ready to tread the trail to experience the many health benefits of cross country running? Winter is the perfect time to join our beginning trail running series. These outings are for all abilities, even if you have never tried trail running. We'll begin with stretches and a warm up lap and then complete a 2- to 3.5-mile run on mostly level terrain. Learn about pacing and safety tips, while getting a workout in a beautiful setting. Run at a slow pace? Need to walk for a moment? No worries. These outings are structured to accommodate all abilities. The sessions are led by Recreation and Lifeguard Services Coordinator Lesley Pfeiffer, who's a long-time trail runner. Free. Parking $7 or free for Regional Parks members. For more information, email or call 707-565-3080.

If you're a more experienced runner, check out our intermediate trail running series in January at Helen Putnam Regional Park.
