Plan your summer getaway today
When the weather turns chilly, it's the perfect time to dream up next season's outdoor adventures. Camping reservations can be made approximately six months in advance, so winter is a great time to book spring and summer campsites. Your regional parks offer more than 200 year-round campsites for tents, trailers, RVs, backpackers and even cozy cabins at Spring Lake. Weekend dates fill up quickly at our most popular parks, so don't delay!
Pitch in for your parks
Looking for ways to help care for the parks you love? Join us for volunteer workdays around the county, from removing invasive plants at Doran Beach to planting native plants at Shiloh Ranch Regional Park or picking up litter at Spring Lake. Bring a friend, meet new people and help us care for local wildlife habitat and natural resources. No experience needed; all tools provided.
Winter solstice celebration
Join us for a special evening outing on Saturday, Dec. 20, 4:30-6:30 p.m., at Riverfront Regional Park. Welcome the winter solstice with a guided sunset stroll, followed by a cozy campfire gathering. Bring a song, poem or story to share with fellow park lovers. We’ll provide hot chocolate and tea; bring your snacks and a sense of wonder. Cost is $10 (Sonoma County residents); $12 (out of county).
Gift a year of adventures
Support the health and happiness of family and friends this holiday season with Regional Parks gift memberships! When you give a parks membership, you gift a year of free parking at 60+ regional parks, a night of free camping and endless opportunities to get outside in 2026.
Gift memberships come in the form of a voucher that recipients redeem when they're ready to begin their membership. Memberships are available at Oliver’s Markets, REI Santa Rosa, Sebastopol Hardware, Garrett Ace Hardware in Healdsburg and Windsor, Sports Basement in Santa Rosa, Copperfield's Books in Petaluma and other locations.
For businesses, clubs and organizations, we also offer group memberships for your team at a discounted rates based on the number of vouchers purchased.
Park-inspired gifts
Looking for a little something to pair with a park membership? The Sonoma County Parks Foundation's online gift shop has park-inspired apparel, accessories and eco-friendly gifts. Every purchase supports the trails, beaches and open spaces you love.
The Foundation also offers other meaningful ways to celebrate the parks supporters, nature lovers and outdoor adventurers on your list. You can sponsor a sheep or a tree or contribute to a commemorative bench or picnic table. And don’t miss the annual photo contest calendars, available directly through the Foundation.
Upcoming holiday closures
Our Santa Rosa office will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 25, for Christmas and Thursday, Jan. 1, for New Year's Day. All parks will remain open.
