Join Bill and Dave
Hikes for a moderate 6.5-mile, double-loop hike at
Shiloh Ranch Regional Park in east Windsor. You’ll explore oak woodlands and views of the Santa Rosa Plain and
see how the landscape is regenerating after the wildfire. The hike will consist of two loops starting and ending at the
parking lot. You’ll cover the first loop in 4 miles and return to the parking
lot picnic area to enjoy lunch and gear up for the second loop of 2.5 miles.
The second hike begins with a half hour of climbing, but the reward is a
fantastic vista point where you can relax before continuing the rest of the
loop. To complete both routes, you’ll hike for about four hours and experience
an elevation gain of about 1,000 feet. Arrive at the park at
9:45 a.m. for a prompt 10 a.m. departure. Wear weather-appropriate clothing and bring a
lunch and liquids. This hike takes place rain or shine. Free. No registration
needed. Parking
is $7 or free for Regional Parks members. For more information, visit billanddavehikes.com.
Note: This program is subject to cancellation due to park closures during stormy weather.
