Scholarships

Scholarships will be given on a first-come first-served basis while funding lasts. Awards are based on the following criteria and are not guaranteed to every applicant:

  1. Completed application
  2. Interest in the program topics and activities
  3. Income eligibility

Refunds

Refunds will only be given if the reservation is cancelled two weeks before the camp begins.

Before and After Care and Late Fees

Before and after care is available at Spring Lake Regional Park camps:

  • Before care is offered 7:30-9AM. $60 for the entire camp.
  • After care is offered from 4-5:30PM. $60 for the entire camp.
  • Morning and afternoon sessions can be purchased at time of registration.

A $12 late fee will be charged for any camper who is picked up 15 minutes past the scheduled pick-up time.

Become a Life Guard in Training (LGIT) - Applications due April 20, 2018

Sonoma County Regional Parks Life Guards in Training (LGIT) program is a volunteer work experience opportunity for teens 13 and older. Participants will meet new friends and gain valuable work experience, especially if they are interested in becoming open-water lifeguards for Regional Parks. Applications are due April 20, 2018. All professional rescuers start their training somewhere! Regional Parks invites participants to start their rescue careers with our expert open-water lifeguards. Campers ages 9 to 16 will learn swimming and paddling rescues, boating safety, first aid and CPR. Highlights include kayaking, swimming, time on the inflatable Water Park, and a final competition to show-off learned skills. Before and after care available for an additional fee.

Catch some waves with us! California is associated with surfer culture, but not all of the state’s coastline is the same. Our section in Sonoma County is rugged, the water is colder, the waves are bigger, and the ocean wilder. For this camp, our expert lifeguards will create a safe and rewarding ocean experience. Campers ages 9 to 16 spend days on the water surfing, learn rescue techniques and basic first aid and CPR, and participate in fun activities about protecting the ocean. 

Families are invited to camp at the beach for the week and can reserve a spot at sonomacountyparks.org.

Wetsuits with a thickness of at least 4/3mm and booties are required. Bodega Bay Surf Shack will provide discounted rentals, but campers must be sized at the Surf Shack by closing on June 22.

Sea Squirt Summer Camp

Hey kids, have you ever wanted to learn how to kayak? This two-day kayak camp will give you the skills you need to take on bigger boating adventures on the river. Have you spent lazy summer days paddling the jewel of Sonoma County waterways? Take a paddling trip from Del Rio Woods in Healdsburg to Steelhead Beach in Forestville. This four-day, 12-mile water trek will be interspersed with games, challenges, and learning about the ecology of the Russian River. On the last day of the trip, we will meet with our partners at the Sonoma County Water Agency to learn about where our water comes from. Ages 9 to 16.

Lifeguards in Training (LGIT)

Sonoma County Regional Parks Life Guards in Training (LGIT) program is a volunteer work experience opportunity for teens 13 and older. Participants will meet new friends and gain valuable work experience, especially if they are interested in becoming open-water lifeguards for Regional Parks.

Duties: Assist Regional Parks’ lifeguards in leading activities at summer camps, act as role models for the Junior Lifeguard campers, enforce health and safety regulations, help maintain camp equipment, and maintain a kind, supportive, responsible, professional and fun attitude.

Requirements: Must be at least 13 years of age by June 16, 2018; no exceptions. LGIT’s must have previously participated in the camp they wish to work for. They must attend training sessions and commit to attending two full camps. (This means the entirety of the camp.) Qualified applicants will be interviewed by phone.

Cost: $200 registration/materials fee, which covers all camps the LGIT may participate in.
