The parking lot often fills to capacity on summer weekends, and rangers will close vehicle entry until space becomes available. Plan to arrive before 10 a.m. on weekends for the best availability.

Sunset Beach offers easy access to the Russian River and is a summer destination for swimming, paddling and picnicking and a year-round spot for fishing and bird watching.
From the parking area, a short, unpaved trail passes a picnic area and leads to a rocky beach with beautiful views of redwood forests and the Hacienda Bridge.
Fires or barbecues are not allowed on the beach. The day use fee for vehicles with 10 or more people is $1 per person.
