Public Input Invited on North Sonoma Mountain Master Plan

Sonoma County Regional Parks is developing a master plan for future recreation opportunities and environmental protections for North Sonoma Mountain Regional Park and Open Space Preserve. The plan will serve as a guide for the park and preserve’s management and will consider the potential for additional public access, including a trail to the mountain peak.

The public is invited to learn more and share ideas at a workshop scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. April 27 at the Bennett Valley Guild Hall, 4145 Grange Road, Santa Rosa, 95404. A second workshop will be scheduled for Winter 2018.

North Sonoma Mountain is Sonoma County's newest park. The 820-acre site southeast of Santa Rosa opened in early 2015 and includes a 4-mile segment of the Bay Area Ridge Trail connecting to Jack London State Historic Park. 

The master planning process provides an opportunity to develop a long-range blueprint for public use and protections of the park and preserve.
