Access during the health emergency: This park is experiencing a high number of visitors. Plan to arrive by mid-morning for the best chance of securing parking. The park entrance closes when the parking lot fills. Street parking is not advised, and parking regulations are strictly enforced. Alcohol, large groups and charter bus access are not allowed. Sunset Beach offers easy access to the Russian River and is a summer destination for swimming, paddling and picnicking and a year-round spot for fishing and bird watching.

From the parking area, a short, unpaved trail passes a picnic area and leads to a rocky beach with beautiful views of redwood forests and the Hacienda Bridge.


Alcohol is not allowed in the park from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. Fires or barbecues are not allowed on the beach.

Commercial buses must access is not allowed during the coronavirus emergency. 

Safety and Accessibility

Lifeguards are not on duty.

ADA access is available to a portable restroom and picnic areas. Three accessible parking spaces.
