A Class 1 Multi-Use Trail is a type of trail designed to accommodate multiple types of users. This includes cyclists, equestrians and pedestrians. Class 1 Trails provide an easy path for all levels and abilities of users, and are often important transportation routes for commuters.

Sonoma County Regional Parks' Class 1 Trails

Coastal Prairie Trail

The Coastal Prairie Trail is a 1.1-mile bike and pedestrian trail between the Bodega Bay Community Center and Keefe Avenue. This accessible trail offers prairie and coastal views, wildlife viewing opportunities, and connections to Sonoma Coast State Park, the Salmon Creek neighborhood, and south Salmon Creek Beach.

Colgan Creek Trail

The 1.2 mile paved and wheelchair accessible Colgan Creek Trail is part of an overall network connection of trails and bikeways as shown in the Sonoma County Bikeways Plan.

Hunter Creek Trail

Hunter Creek Trail is a 1.5-mile paved, accessible trail located along Hunter Creek between Santa Rosa Avenue and Hunter Lane in southeast Santa Rosa. It is open to pedestrians, cyclists, and equestrians.

Joe Rodota Trail

The Joe Rodota Trail is an 8.5-mile paved, off-road trail linking downtown Santa Rosa and Sebastopol. This accessible trail runs parallel to Highway 12 and is a popular route for cyclists, walkers, and runners.

Laguna de Santa Rosa Trail

This 1.8-mile multi-use trail lets visitors experience some of the biologically diverse landscape of Sonoma County's largest freshwater wetland. Dry in the summer and fall, the Laguna de Santa Rosa transforms into a flooded, marshy landscape during winter rains.

San Antonio Creek Trail

San Antonio Creek Trail is a short multi-use, paved trail designed to create a safe connection for bicyclist and pedestrians traveling between Marin and Sonoma counties.

Santa Rosa Creek Trail

The Santa Rosa Creek Trail runs along the creek for 2.14 miles between Willowside Road and the City of Santa Rosa's Prince Memorial Greenway into downtown Santa Rosa. The trail is popular year-round with walkers, joggers, cyclists and dog owners.

Sonoma Valley Regional Trail

The Sonoma Valley Regional Trail is a future 15-mile-long bicycle and pedestrian trail running through the Sonoma Valley from Melita Road in Santa Rosa to Maxwell Farms Regional Park in the Boyes Hot Springs area near Sonoma, along Sonoma Highway (Highway 12). It currently exists in smaller sections (see map below) that are envisioned to link together to make one contiguous trail.

West County Regional Trail

The West County Regional Trail runs between Sebastopol and Forestville.
