Public invited to shape future of new north county Russian River Parkway
Sonoma County Regional Parks is requesting community input on its proposed plan to create a Russian River access park near Cloverdale. The Russian River Parkway’s draft master plan will guide the development and management of the future 19-acre north county river park. Regional Parks invites the public to review the project presentation at russianriverpkwy.com and provide comments through June 30, 2021. Read full story
Construction Begins at Del Rio Woods
Construction of facility improvements is scheduled to begin on October 31, 2017. The park will be closed during construction, which is anticipated to be complete in Spring 2018. Read full story
Board of Supervisors Approve Master Plan
On September 12, 2017, the County of Sonoma Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to approve the Master Plan and adopt the Mitigated Negative Declaration and Monitoring Program for the Sonoma Valley Regional Park Expansion. Read full story
Construction Update for Flowery School Trail and Verano Avenue Trail segments
On July 11, 2017, the construction contract was awarded to G.D. Nielson Construction, Inc. in the amount of $468,832. The contract includes paving 0.42 miles of trail and a new wooden pedestrian and bicycle bridge. Construction started on July 14 and is scheduled to be completed by October 4, 2017. Read full story

Regional Parks is seeking public input on a proposed mitigated negative declaration/initial study for the Sonoma Valley Regional Park Expansion Master Plan. Comments on the adequacy of the study’s environmental analysis will be accepted through June 12, 2017. Read full story

Sonoma County Regional Parks is developing a master plan for future recreation opportunities and environmental protections for North Sonoma Mountain Regional Park and Open Space Preserve. The plan will serve as a guide for the park and preserve’s management and will consider the potential for additional public access, including a trail to the mountain peak. Read full story

Regional Parks is updating the master plan for Maxwell Farms Regional Park to guide future improvements. As part of the process, planners are hosting a Feb. 17 public workshop as a follow-up to the initial planning session held last year.
