Mark West Creek Trail (Proposed)

What & Why?

The Mark West Creek Trail will provide students a safe pathway to bike or walk to and from Mark West Elementary School. The project was initiated in partnership with the Mark West Union School District and County Safe Routes to School to promote healthy living and is an identified project in the 2010 Sonoma County Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan.

The Mark West Creek Trail is located south of Windsor and north of Santa Rosa in Supervisorial District 4. 

What's Next?

Regional Parks staff is in negotiations with Caltrans to obtain a public access easement where Mark West Creek crosses below Highway 101. Regional Parks staff will apply for grant funds when available to complete the environmental work, design and engineering, and construction.

Future public meetings will be scheduled to solicit input.
