Maxwell Farms Regional Park Renovation Phase 2 Construction

Maxwell Farms Regional Park Parking Lot

What & Why?

As Phase 1 project construction on the Maxwell Farms Regional Park Master Plan is wrapping up, design for construction of the Phase 2 portion of the project is underway. Construction for this second phase of work includes: the addition of four (4) new pickleball courts adjacent to the existing tennis courts, a new restroom, enhancements to the existing skatepark, a new bicycle pump track and a gathering/viewing area between the two with accessible connecting pathways.

What's Next?

The conceptual plan for the skatepark improvements is well underway thanks to the active participation of the Valley of the Moon Park Riders Union. A public input meeting led by American Ramps Company was held in the spring of 2024 to seek public input for the conceptual design phase of the bicycle pump track portion of the project. Once conceptual planning is developed for these two areas, Regional Parks will be preparing construction plans for permit applications. After construction funding is secured for Phase 2 and the permits issued, the project will be publicly bid, and a contract awarded for construction. The construction schedule is dependent on finding and receiving available funding.

The Sonoma County Parks Foundation is actively searching for funding opportunities to complete the Phase 2 elements of construction at Maxwell Farms Regional Park.
