Pinnacle Gulch Coastal Access Trail Improvements

What & Why? 

During spring 2024, the Redwood Trails Alliance and Sonoma County Regional Parks Youth Crew constructed “terraced steps” at the beginning of the trail, correcting erosional issues. The elongated steps are followed by about 65 sturdy, well designed steps along the main trail – for a total of 89 steps. The new steps better withstand intense storms, make the trail safer and more accommodating for visitors, and protect the natural habitat.

What's Next?

The upper trail steps and terrace project will be completed in spring 2024. Additional improvement on other sections of the trail will continue as funding is secured.
