Doran Shell Restroom Improvements - Project Details
Project Description
Regional Parks replaced two existing composting toilets with a new four-stall
unisex restroom, and performed improvements to campsite 20 to improve
accessibility and upgrade existing facilities. The work included providing
electricity, sewer and water to the restroom, to the accessible campsite 20, and
to the camp host site 19.
The new restroom is located in the same area where the composting
toilets were located. The structure is a prefabricated concrete
building that was delivered fully assembled, placed by crane on a new
foundation and then connected to the utilities. Site and camping accessibility
improvements include:
- Expanding the RV parking area to 20’ wide x 56’ long
- Providing a paved eating and fire ring area with accessible table and grill
- Providing a compacted rock path of travel around the tent site
- Installing utilities to provide water, sewer, and electricity to meet special needs
- Providing a new accessible drinking fountain at the restroom.
