Birds live in a wide variety of habitats, travel the globe and adapt to the different seasons. What makes birds unique? How are some able to dive below the water, while others soar above the clouds, barely moving their wings? On a flat and easy walk, observe and learn about some of our feathered friends and discover the adaptations that help them survive, find food and live in different environments.

  • When: August 23, 2021 from 8:30 10:00 PM

Have you ever wanted to paddle under the light of the moon? Experience the full moon in a kayak at Spring Lake Regional Park. Paddles, kayaks and life jackets will be provided.

Located along the Russian River, Riverfront Regional Park is just minutes from downtown Windsor and Healdsburg and surrounded by classic Wine Country scenery. The park features a lovely redwood grove and two beautiful lakes for fishing, kayaking, and canoeing.

The 2-mile Lake Trail loops around the larger lake, Lake Benoist, and has a short spur to a small gravel beach on the Russian River. The .5-mile Redwood Hill Trail climbs through a grove of coast redwoods.

A restroom with flush toilets and a drinking fountain are available.

Group Picnics

The redwood forest at the park entrance contains one of Regional Parks' loveliest group picnic areas, with a large barbecue, a volleyball net strung among the trees, and a horseshoe pit. The site can be reserved by calling our reservations desk at (707) 565-2041.
