Prescribed burn operations planned at Carrington Coast Ranch Regional Park and Open Space Preserve
Sonoma County Regional Parks and Audubon Canyon Ranch – Press Release - For Immediate Release
Santa Rosa, CA | November 07, 2024
Sonoma County Regional Parks, in partnership with Audubon Canyon Ranch, is planning a prescribed burn at Carrington Coast Ranch Regional Park and Open Space Preserveon Nov. 8. Fire crews will burn approximately 7 acres starting as early as 9 a.m. and continuing throughout the day. Smoke may be visible around the area throughout the day. This is a permitted controlled burn; do not call 911.
The burn will take place south of Coleman Valley Road. The park is currently not open to the public. For updates on this and other Regional Parks’ prescribed burns, download the Watch Duty app on a mobile device and:

Prescribed burns are carefully planned and must meet strict criteria for ecological benefit, weather parameters, smoke management and fire safety guidelines. (The planned date is subject to last-minute changes due to these considerations.) When all conditions are met, trained fire personnel conduct the burn while monitoring the set criteria, fire behavior and designated fire control lines.
This prescribed burn has been planned and coordinated with the Northern Sonoma County Air Pollution Control District to minimize the smoke impacts on surrounding communities.
