New trails, more coming to Taylor Mountain Regional Park and Open Space Preserve
Sonoma County’s largest trail construction project in over a decade is underway at Taylor Mountain Regional Park and Open Space Preserve in Santa Rosa. When completed, hikers, cyclists and equestrians will have access to an additional 450 acres of the 1,100-acre park. These new trails will improve the quality of recreational opportunities and access to nature close to Sonoma County’s most populous city, adding approximately 8 miles of new multi-use trails and doubling the park’s existing trail network. Public boat launch, new Russian River access opens in Guerneville

Sonoma County to reopen Joe Rodota Trail

Maxwell Farms Regional Park renovation budget approved by Board of Supervisors

Marin, Sonoma and Mendocino County Partner to Create a Cleaner Coast
Marin, Sonoma and Mendocino Counties are launching a coordinated campaign to provide visitor education and outreach to reduce the amount of litter and waste in coastal regions and watersheds through a three-County memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the non-profit organization Leave No Trace.The ongoing partnership includes coordination with federal and state agencies, federally recognized tribes, non-federally recognized tribes, local jurisdictions and land managers, Sonoma County Tourism, and other community-based groups across all three counties. Spring Lake Water Park opens Memorial Day Weekend
The water park at Spring Lake Regional Park returns on Saturday, May 28, after a hiatus in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID pandemic. The water park, located in Spring Lake’s chlorinated swimming lagoon, is an inflatable playground featuring floating slides, climbing walls, bridges, balance beams, jumps, an in-water sports court and other fun activities.
