Parks Access Expanded in New Health Order

Sonoma County’s health officer today further eased restrictions on outdoor recreation during the Covid-19 pandemic by issuing an order that allows park agencies to reopen some parking lots and sports facilities. The health order means residents can drive to inland parks beginning Wednesday, May 13, 2020. The order keeps Sonoma Coast parking areas closed to prevent crowding at beaches but allows coastal residents to walk or bike to nearby parks during limited hours. Read full story

All Parks in Sonoma County to Close Due to COVID-19 Emergency

Sonoma County’s interim public health officer today ordered the closure of all parks in Sonoma County to further enforce the county’s shelter-in-place directive during the COVID-19 emergency. The closure goes into effect March 24 and remains in effect until further notice. Read full story

Public advisory on the status of Sonoma County Regional Parks

Regional Parks on March 18, 2020 is suspending all non-essential services in compliance with County of Sonoma health guidelines to prevent the community spread of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19). This status is in effect through April 7, 2020 or until extended, rescinded, superseded or amended. All parks, trails and beaches remain open so the community can engage in self-directed outdoor exercise (hiking, walking, biking) while following social distancing and personal hygiene guidelines. Parking fees are waived until further notice.
