Restrictions on Sonoma County Parks Closures Eased

All Parks in Sonoma County to Close Due to COVID-19 Emergency
Sonoma County’s interim public health officer today ordered the closure of all parks in Sonoma County to further enforce the county’s shelter-in-place directive during the COVID-19 emergency. The closure goes into effect March 24 and remains in effect until further notice. Read full story
Public advisory on the status of Sonoma County Regional Parks
Regional Parks on March 18, 2020 is suspending all non-essential services in compliance with County of Sonoma health guidelines to prevent the community spread of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19). This status is in effect through April 7, 2020 or until extended, rescinded, superseded or amended. All parks, trails and beaches remain open so the community can engage in self-directed outdoor exercise (hiking, walking, biking) while following social distancing and personal hygiene guidelines. Free Parking for Veterans on 2019 Holiday Weekend
In honor of Veterans Day, military members and veterans will receive free parking at all Sonoma County Regional Parks for the upcoming holiday weekend. Passes are available through Nov. 8 at Sonoma County Regional Parks’ main office and Sonoma County Veterans Service Office and through the holiday weekend at at Spring Lake (Newanga Avenue entrance only), Doran Beach, Ragle Ranch, and Healdsburg Veterans Memorial Beach. Regional Parks Hosts ThirdWorkshop for Russian River Trail
Sonoma County Regional Parks is hosting a third community workshop to gather input on a potential Russian River bicycle and pedestrian trail between Forestville and Jenner. The meeting will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 23 at the Monte Rio Recreation and Park District office, 20488 Highway 116. Spanish interpretation and refreshments will be provided. Read full story
Prescribed fire planned for Sonoma Valley Regional Park on June 17, 2019
TheCalifornia Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE),Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit, is planning a prescribed burn for Sonoma Valley Regional Park along Highway 12 in Glen Ellen on Monday, June 17,2019. Fire crews will burn approximately 34 acres between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30p.m. Smoke will be visible in the air and fire crews and flames will be visiblealong the highway frontage while the burn is managed. Alcohol, Bus Access Regulated at Steelhead, Sunset Beaches for Summer
