Occidental Road - Background

West County Trail at Occidental Road

Project Background

The West County Trail provides residents with a transportation and recreation route linking communities such as Graton and Sebastopol. Sections of the trail have been completed in phases over a period of years as public funding has become available. The 1.4-mile trail section between Occidental Road and Green Valley Road was completed in 1998, and the 0.87-mile trail section that parallels Highway 116 between Occidental Road and Mill Station Road was completed in partnership with Caltrans in 2004.

The County has secured funding for the 0.87-mile long, separated pathway (Class I bike path) that will be constructed along Occidental Road between two existing sections of the West County Trail.
