Camperships

Summer Camp camperships are provided to families with significant financial need. Camperships will be given on a first-come first-served basis while funding lasts. Awards are based on the following criteria and are not guaranteed to every applicant:

Refunds

Refunds will only be given if the reservation is cancelled two weeks before the camp begins.

Extended Care

Before and after care is available at Spring Lake Regional Park camps:

  • Before and after care is offered 8-9 a.m. and 4-5 p.m. $25 for the entire camp.
  • Extended care can be purchased at time of registration.

Become a Life Guard in Training (LGIT) - Applications due April 17, 2020

Sonoma County Regional Parks Life Guards in Training (LGIT) program is a volunteer work experience opportunity for teens 14 and older. Participants will meet new friends and gain valuable work experience, especially if they are interested in becoming open-water lifeguards for Regional Parks. Applications are due April 17, 2020. Introduction to Kayak Camp

Have you been wanting to learn the ins and outs of kayaking? Take an introductory paddling course at Spring Lake where kids will learn how to paddle properly and feel comfortable maneuvering in open water. Then, on Friday, kayakers will paddle from Healdsburg Veterans Memorial Beach to Riverfront Regional Park to test their skills. Catch some waves with us! Our Northern California coastline is rugged, the water is cold, the waves are big, and the ocean is full of life! For this camp, our expert lifeguards will create a safe and rewarding ocean experience for new surfers. Spend your days on the water surfing and learning rescue technique. Meet marine creatures that live off our coast, learn what threatens our blue ocean, and discover how we can protect it. Hang Ten! Ages 10-14. For more information, call (707) 565-2041.

Families are invited to camp at the beach for the week and can reserve a spot at  sonomacountyparks.org.

Wetsuits with a thickness of at least 4/3mm and booties are required.  Bodega Bay Surf Shack will provide discounted rentals, but campers must be sized at the Surf Shack by closing on June 26.

Lifeguards in Training (LGIT)

Sonoma County Regional Parks Life Guards in Training (LGIT) program is a volunteer work experience opportunity for teens 14 and older. Participants will meet new friends and gain valuable work experience, especially if they are interested in becoming open-water lifeguards for Regional Parks. The cost of registration includes a Junior Guard membership through the United States Lifesaving Association (USLA). This membership includes a subscription to the American Lifeguard magazine, eligibility to compete in Regional and National Junior Lifeguard Competitions, a Junior Guard USLA membership card, bumper sticker, and various discounts. 

Duties: Assist Regional Parks’ lifeguards in leading activities at summer camps, act as role models for the Junior Lifeguard campers, enforce health and safety regulations, help maintain camp equipment, and maintain a kind, supportive, responsible, professional and fun attitude.

Requirements: Must be at least 14 years of age by June 17, 2020; no exceptions. LGIT’s must have previously participated in the camp they wish to work for. They must attend training sessions and commit to attending two full camps. (This means the entirety of the camp.) Qualified applicants will be interviewed by phone.

Cost: $150 registration/materials fee, which covers all camps the LGIT may participate in.
