Register online using the registration links below each camp description or visit us at our Drop-in Registration Days (March 1, 8, 9 or April 13) at the Environmental Discovery Center at Spring Lake Regional Park.

Discounts

Summer Camp discounts are provided to families with significant financial need. Discounts will be given on a first-come first-served basis while funding lasts. Awards are based on the following criteria and are not guaranteed to every applicant:

Refunds

Refunds will only be given if the reservation is cancelled two weeks before the camp begins.

Extended Care

Before and after care is available at Spring Lake Regional Park camps:

  • Before and after care is offered 8-9AM and 4-5PM. $25 for the entire camp.
  • Extended care can be purchased at time of registration.

Become a Life Guard in Training (LGIT) - Applications due April 19, 2019

Sonoma County Regional Parks Life Guards in Training (LGIT) program is a volunteer work experience opportunity for teens 14 and older. Participants will meet new friends and gain valuable work experience, especially if they are interested in becoming open-water lifeguards for Regional Parks. Applications are due April 19, 2019. Campers ages 10 to 14 will learn swimming and paddling rescues, boating safety, first aid and CPR. Highlights include kayaking, swimming, time on the inflatable Water Park, and a final competition to show-off learned skills. Before and after care available for an additional fee.

Discovery campers ages 7 to 11 will investigate our local wildlife and plants through hands-on educational and recreational activities like kayaking, nature walks, science experiments, swimming, splashing on the inflatable water park, befriending turtles and more! Before and after care is available for an additional fee.

Surf Camp

Catch some waves with us! California is associated with surfer culture, but not all of the state’s coastline is the same. Our section in Sonoma County is rugged, the water is colder, the waves are bigger, and the ocean wilder. For this camp, our expert lifeguards will create a safe and rewarding ocean experience. Campers ages 10 to 14 spend days on the water surfing, learn rescue techniques and basic first aid and CPR, and participate in fun activities about protecting the ocean. 

Families are invited to camp at the beach for the week and can reserve a spot at  sonomacountyparks.org.

Wetsuits with a thickness of at least 4/3mm and booties are required.  Bodega Bay Surf Shack will provide discounted rentals, but campers must be sized at the Surf Shack by closing on June 21.

Sea Squirts Summer Camp

Rushing Down the Russian River Kayak Camp

Have you dreamt of spending long summer days exploring the jewel of Sonoma County waterways? Take a paddling trip from Del Rio Woods in Healdsburg to Steelhead Beach in Forestville. Campers ages 10 to 14 will enjoy a four-day, 12-mile water trek interspersed with games, challenges, and learning about the ecology of the Russian River. On the last day of the trip, we will meet with our partners at Sonoma Water to learn about our watershed. Lunches and snacks are included.

Lifeguards in Training (LGIT)

Sonoma County Regional Parks Life Guards in Training (LGIT) program is a volunteer work experience opportunity for teens 14 and older. Participants will meet new friends and gain valuable work experience, especially if they are interested in becoming open-water lifeguards for Regional Parks. LGITs will also be trained and officially certified in CPR/AED for Adult/Child/Infant. 

Duties: Assist Regional Parks’ lifeguards in leading activities at summer camps, act as role models for the Junior Lifeguard campers, enforce health and safety regulations, help maintain camp equipment, and maintain a kind, supportive, responsible, professional and fun attitude.

Requirements: Must be at least 14 years of age by June 17, 2019; no exceptions. LGIT’s must have previously participated in the camp they wish to work for. They must attend training sessions and commit to attending two full camps. (This means the entirety of the camp.) Qualified applicants will be interviewed by phone.

Cost: $150 registration/materials fee, which covers all camps the LGIT may participate in. This price also covers CPR/AED digital certification cards.
