Andy's Unity Park

The park remembers the life of Andy Lopez, who was tragically killed at the site and also celebrates community unity and youth empowerment while providing a much needed neighborhood park with a variety of features for neighborhood residents and families to gather and play.

 

Cloverdale River Park - Phase III: Bank Restoration & FEMA Flood Repair Project

This completed project was for the removal of the existing levee in the northern area of the park and the creation of a more natural terraced river bank, and to repair flood damage from the winter storms of 2005-2006.

 

Doran Boat Launch Facility Improvements

The purpose of the proposed project is to provide improved access, amenities, and safety at boat launching facilities in Bodega Bay at Doran Beach Regional Park.

 

Doran Park Shell Restroom

Existing restrooms at Doran Park Shell Restroom in Sonoma County, California are being replaced with new accessible restrooms

 

Doran Park - Jetty Day Use Disabled Access Improvements

Sonoma County Regional Parks completed disabled access improvements at the Jetty Day Use area of Doran Park in Fall 2014.

 

Doran Park - Cove Restroom & Accessibility Improvements

Regional Parks upgraded the existing restroom and shower building located between the Cove and Gull Campgrounds, and made site accessibility improvements associated with the building and the boardwalk at Doran Regional Park.

 

Hood Mountain Bay Area Ridge Trail Extension - Los Guilicos to Hwy 12

In early 2015 Regional Parks began construction on a section of the Bay Area Ridge Trail at the entry to Hood Mountain Regional Park & Open Space Preserve.

 

Hood Mountain - FEMA: Los Alamos Entrance Repair Project

The New Years Flood of 2005-2006 damaged the Hood Mountain Regional Park entrance on Los Alamos Road park driveway, resulting in the closure of the lower parking lot.

 

Hood Mountain - Lower Johnson Ridge Trail

The purpose for the construction project for the Lower Johnson Ridge Trail Project at Hood Mountain Regional Park & Open Space Preserve was to realign a one-third of a mile section of trail that was previously on a steep access road within the park. That project was completed in Fall of 2014.

 

Kenwood Plaza Park - Kirby Gazebo

The new Bobby Musser-Kirby Gazebo at Kenwood Plaza Park is complete!

 
 

Taylor Mountain Natural Play Area

Sonoma County Regional Parks has created a nature-inspired play area for families at the western base of Taylor Mountain in the area of the Petaluma Hill Road entrance to Taylor Mountain Regional Park & Open Space Preserve.

 

Shiloh Ranch Fire & Fire Suppression Repair

The October 2017 fires burned three wood retaining walls at Shiloh Ranch Park in Sonoma County, including one wall with a large 48” culvert. Regional Parks is applying for FEMA grants to help fund the wall repairs.

 

Sonoma Marin Area Rail Transit (SMART) Trail

The Hearn Avenue to Joe Rodota Trail section is one segment of the proposed 70-mile SMART Trail that will provide a north-south bicycle and pedestrian pathway from Larkspur in Marin County to Cloverdale in Sonoma County.

 

Cardoza Creek Restoration at Tolay Lake Regional Park

Construction of the Cardoza Creek Restoration Project was completed in August 2013 and trails that were closed for construction are now open.

 

Watson School Restoration Project

This project is to restore the historic Watson School located on Bodega Highway between Sebastopol and the Town of Bodega and refurnish the interior as a complete example of an early one-room schoolhouse.

 
 

West County Trail - Forestville Trailhead

This project will complete the existing 13-mile West County Trail into downtown Forestville by constructing a 0.2-mile multi-use trail from Highway 116 to the current trail terminus near Pajaro Lane. The extension will improve public access to the trail, provide more recreation and non-motorized transportation opportunities, and serve as an access route to local businesses, parks, and schools.
